Grammar has different sound elements that help build character to a language. Linguists have studied different gramatical traditions that have changed throughout history and regions. “It’s not about setting out the rules of a language and how it works for people. It’s reflects how a linguist analyzes how people are using that system.”

There is a variety in the way we speak English. From our speech, gestures, and pronunciation anything can make a different sounds in English words. In this podcast our hosts Lauren Gawne and Gretchen McCulloch read different stories  and sentences  that mention how grammar structures have evolved and influenced other languages.

Hindu grammar was the main study before European grammar had been developed through language studies that dated back to old Greek and Latin literature. Throughout the centuries Latin has influenced the English language as much as Latin has influenced languages. Such as how different endings in grammar has changed through different countries like European and American grammar.

Linguist have tried to study the grammatical tradition that is different to every language. Groupings and patterings is very important when it comes to using grammatical changes in different language. It can be tricky trying to learn new forms and functions in a language when you are used to your native grammar. We make up own on set of rules when it comes to speaking. That also affects the way we pronounce and use our language,

“they’re made by people, and those people bring their own interests and priorities to the process.”

Grammar has changed due to time and systems that have evolved. From changing nouns, adjectives, and verbs that change throughout a language. Like from the book West to East described in the podcast, Western languages have some similarities like Frisian, English, Dutch, and German have a common indo-European language family.
