Imagine every language you can think of combined into one. Maybe not every language but primarily English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Latin German, Russian and Spanish that have influenced its grammar and vocabulary"It is known for its simplicity of acquisition, at least for speakers of Romance and other western European languages."

How did Interlingua come to be? Created to facilitate  international communication. It also uses  simplified  structures and theoretical learnability by using 5 romance languages and 6 European languages. As a Spanish speaking person, the "modern latin" to me sounds like my cousins that were born and raised in Mexico and speak perfect Spanish.Give it a try and I can guarantee that you will know at least a few words that sound or look the same to a language you already know.

What does Interlingua sound like to Romance language speakers? : r/ interlingua

“Interlingua isn’t the property of a single culture or people. No native speaker has an unfair advantage. Speak Interlingua and put an end to linguistic discrimination.”
